- Any metal tools such as cuticle nippers, cuticle pushers, and nail cutters should be sanitized between each client. Sanitized tools should be properly stored in a labeled "CLEAN IMPLEMENTS" container. Likewise, any dirty/contaminated tools should be stored in a properly labeled "DIRTY IMPLEMENTS" container.
- Items like nail files and buffing blocks are single-use and should be disposed after every client because they cannot be properly sanitized according to board standards.
- Always choose a nail salon with licensed technicians! Certification ensures that professionals have undergone proper training in hygiene protocols and nail care techniques.
- Foot Spa Maintenance: If the salon offers pedicure services, pedicure tubs/spas must be cleaned and disinfected between each use. Removable parts should be scrubbed, and pipes sanitized to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi.
- Cleanliness is Key! Upon entering the salon, take a moment to observe its cleanliness. Surfaces, floors, and equipment should appear tidy and well-maintained. Pay attention to the overall hygiene standards of the salon!
